Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel Mesh Suppliers
316 stainless steel mesh is a chrome-nickel-molybdenum metal mesh containing 2-3% molybdenum and has excellent corrosion resistance, so it can be used as a marine grade stainless steel mesh.
Compared with 304 stainless steel, the addition of molybdenum in 316 further improves corrosion resistance and heat resistance. It is widely used not only in the food industry, but also in the medical, pharmaceutical, petroleum and chemical industries and in the marine environment.
Types of 316 Stainless Steel Mesh
According to the manufacturing method and product style, stainless steel mesh is mainly divided into the following types:
Marine grade 316 stainless steel woven mesh: It is a metal mesh product formed by interweaving the stainless steel wires of the warp and weft threads by a weaving machine. Its manufacturing process is similar to that of a loom, and the woven mesh with a finer wire diameter can be rolled up like a cloth, so it is sometimes called wire cloth. For woven wire mesh, common weaving methods are plain weave, twill weave and Dutch weave.
Welded wire mesh: It is a grid metal with rectangular openings formed by welding a series of weft wires on pre-laid warp wires by an automatic electric welding machine consisting of a row of multiple welding electrodes. There are solid welding joints at the crisscross of each wire. Welded wire mesh that usually has an opening of 3-25mm and can be easily rolled up is also called hardware cloth.
Stainless steel perforated mesh is a metal mesh product that uses punching dies of a perforating machine to punch a series of holes on a metal sheet to form various patterns. The hole type includes round hole, square hole, slotted hole, and hexagonal hole, etc., among which round hole is the most common and economical pattern.
Expanded metal mesh is also known as diamond mesh, it is a metal mesh product with diamond openings that is cut and stretched from a metal sheet by a row of V-shaped knives of an machine through reciprocating motion. The mesh surface is raised when it is just produced, so it is called raised expansion metal. The mesh surface can be flattened by further processing with a roller.
Pre-crimped wire mesh is to use a machine with gears as molds to roll the steel wire into a corrugated shape, and then weave the steel wire into a crimped metal mesh product by hand or machine.
Rope mesh: there are two types, one is composed of wire rope and ferrule (called ferrule rope mesh), and the other is to knotted the wire ropes to each other (called knotted rope mesh).
Other decorative wire mesh styles are available in hundreds of thousands of styles and are widely used in architectural decoration such as architecture cladding/facades, cabinets, room dividers, restaurants and hotel lobbies.
